The last services Mosin Nagant?

A few years ago, we had the opportunity to put our hands on this Finnish Mosin Nagant m/39… of 1970! Passed the surprise of this incongruous date, we tried to find out more. Diving back into Terence W. Lapin’s book “The Mosin Nagant Rifle” (6th edition, North Cape Publication Inc.), we learn that about 5500 rifles were produced between 1967 and 1973, their serial number being between 300,800 and 306,051. These weapons were probably assembled by SAKO from parts in stock. According to the author, this production was intended for the training of Finnish army officers and is remarkably accurate.

Contrary to our habit, we are not going to embark on an in-depth analysis of this weapon, but simply share with you some pictures of this rather atypical and rare piece. Don’t forget that you can open the gallery to see the full size picture and read the captions!
